ASTM A615 rebar
is available in four grades: 40, 60, 75, and 80. It is most commonly used in low-stress and less-demanding applications, and makes an economical choice in situations where a tremendous level of tensile strength is not necessarily needed. Its strength and performance characteristics are grade-dependent, and A615 rebar is available in a full range of standard sizes, including:
No. 3 through No. 11
Though A615 rebar
by definition is comprised simply of deformed, plain carbon steel, it can be enhanced with epoxy coatings or other strength and durability-enhancing treatments if project requirements demand it.
ASTM A615 Reinforcing Bar
increases the tensile strength of concrete, and can be used for both primary and secondary reinforcement. It helps absorb stress and weight, and facilitates the more even distribution of the tension caused by the expansion and contraction of concrete when it is exposed to heat and cold, respectively.
